The Listening Room concept is cool – it’s a place music fans can go to hear the music and the stories the artists have to share without being interrupted by a lot of noise. It’s one thing to enjoy music as “background noise”, quite another to see it up and close and be an active participant in the beauty that unfolds.
Last time, in April, the Northern Beauties performed at The Listening Room. I couldn’t be there myself due to previous commitments, but I heard it was really good.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, Angie C will be playing The Listening Room. As per Deanne’s website:
Angie C is an award-winning, classically trained pianist, composer, and singer-songwriter… Angie has been composing melodies on the piano since the tender age of six and delved into the world of songwriting when she was 15. She has since written many songs accompanied by piano and guitar, has composed for TV and film, has collaborated with several DJs/producers in the EDM scene. Furthermore, in March 2012, Angie’s original song, “Feel Me”, was awarded the Regional Prize for Calgary, Alberta in the Canadian Radio Star National Talent Search.
Make sure to check out Angie’s website if you’re interested in hearing, seeing, and learning more about her music. Due to prior engagements, I probably can’t make it this time (yet again), but hopefully I will see you at a future installation of The Listening Room Series.
As far as upcoming events go, on June 15, 2016, Darren Johnson, an acoustic roots and blues artist will be performing at Café Blanca. This will be a great concert as well.
Don’t forget – tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Order early to save a bit of cash.
Stay tuned for additional news about The Listening Room.
